It was a good night for starter Jayson Aquino, who pitched seven strong innings with just one run allowed. Aquino kept the Bats quiet, allowing just three hits, all singles, and two walks. He struck out five and was a ground ball machine, inducing 12 ground ball outs.
The Tides weren’t much on offense, just enough to get the win. They scored all three of their runs in the third inning. Two runs came in on a Chance Sisco double, then Sisco scored on a single from Pedro Martinez. The double was Sisco’s only hit on the night.
