Starting pitcher Jordan Kipper had four great starts to begin his Norfolk career, so, since Orioles fans aren’t allowed to have nice things, he had to get shelled on Friday night. Kipper surrendered six runs, giving up seven hits and two walks in just 3.1 innings pitched. Pressed into emergency multi-inning duty, both Paul Fry and Stefan Crichton kept the Red Wings off the board after that.
Not much going on at the plate for Norfolk. They had seven hits in the game and did not draw a walk. None of the Tides batters had more than one hit.
