Alec Asher made his bid to be named the Orioles’ fifth starter on April 15th with the strongest starting performance seen to date for the Tides. Asher pitched 4 1⁄3 shutout innings with just four hits, zero walks, and six strikeouts. Asher was followed by Stefan Crichton (2 2⁄3 IP) and Jimmy Yacabonis (2 IP), neither of whom allowed a hit or a walk.
All three Tides’ runs came in the fifth inning courtesy of the bottom of the lineup. Robert Andino tripled in two runs and Paul Janish followed him with an RBI double.
