The Baltimore Orioles announced they have selected the contract of catcher Adley Rutschman.
Rutchsman, 24, will wear No. 35, making his first appearance in the majors tonight against the Tampa Bay Rays.
The catcher was drafted out of Oregon by the Orioles in 2019 with the No. 1 overall pick. Rutschman was the No. 1 ranked prospect in baseball at the time and still considered so by many organizations.
Rutschman suffered a strained right tricep in March. Prior to the injury, he played in 123 games for Double-A Bowie and Triple-A Norfolk in 2021, batting .
