The Baltimore Orioles on Sunday placed left-handed pitcher John Means on the 60-day injured list with a sprained elbow.
Means, 29, was pulled after the fourth inning Wednesday night against the Milwaukee Brewers after he experienced discomfort in his left elbow. The injury was first described as a forearm muscle strain.
The left-hander was originally placed on the 10-day injured list on Friday. Prior to the move, Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said that it could be a while before Means stepped back on the mound and having him out would be difficult.
“John’s not a real up and down guy," Hyde said.
