The Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday announced that they have placed infielder Ramón Urías on the ten-day injured list with a left hamstring sprain.
Urias, 28, suffered the injury during Monday's loss to the Tampa Bay Rays. The injury occurred while he ran to first base in the bottom of the ninth inning.
In other roster moves, the Orioles optioned left-handed pitcher Keegan Akin to Triple-A Norfolk and designated catcher Luis Torrens for assignment.
Baltimore recalled left-handed pitcher Drew Rom from Triple-A Norfolk. He will make his major league debut and wear jersey No. 67.
Infielders Ryan O'Hearn and Terrin Vavra have also been recalled from Triple-A Norfolk.
