Orioles overcome three-run deficit, fall 4-3 on walk-off blast

The Orioles’ bullpen briefly stole the show with a pair of unlikely contributors, but Baltimore’s most trusted reliever gave it all back with one pitch. Seranthony Domínguez grooved a 3-0 fastball to Francisco Alvarez, and Alvarez wiped away Baltimore’s three-run comeback with one swing of the bat.

Colin Selby and Keegan Akin blanked the Mets for 3.1 innings before Alvarez launched the walk-off blast. The Orioles fell 4-3 in the first of three at Citi field.

The game began 10 minutes late due to weather in the area, but Baltimore’s offense needed more time than that.
