The Orioles will have more clarity on Jimmy Paredes’ recovery time from a left wrist injury over the next two days, manager Buck Showalter said.
Paredes was evaluated by a hand specialist in Sarasota, Showalter said. While X-rays taken Thursday revealed no fracture and an MRI performed Friday showed no hidden bone problem or serious ligament damage, there is concern that he might have a slight stress fracture in his wrist, but that won’t be known until some of the swelling in the joint goes down over the next 48 hours.
It could be the difference between whether Paredes will be able to return this spring or open the season on the disabled list.
