The Orioles announced two cuts to their spring training roster prior to Friday night’s Grapefruit League game against the New York Yankees, optioning right-hander Parker Bridwell and left-hander Chris Lee to Double-A Bowie.
Bridwell and Lee, who were added to the organization’s 40-man roster prior to this offseason’s Rule 5 draft, were both in their first big league camp. Because they were new to the team’s 40-man roster, they couldn’t be optioned until this week.
Both pitchers are slated to start the season in Bowie’s starting rotation.
Bridwell allowed four earned runs over 6 2/3 Grapefruit League innings over five appearances, including a pair of scoreless one-inning relief outings.
