The Baltimore Orioles have confirmed that they have new leadership in place.
In an official release from the team, Mike Elias was named the club’s next Executive Vice President and General Manager.
Elias just completed his 12th season in Major League Baseball, most recently serving as Assistant General Manager, Player Acquisition with the Houston Astros.
The Houston Chronicle reports Elias ran every draft since he arrived in Houston, picking future stars like Carlos Correa and Alex Bregman.
The Orioles last month moved on from Executive Vice President of Baseball Operations Dan Duquette and manager Buck Showalter after a 115-loss season.
