Orioles offense listless again in 2-1 loss to Oakland

For the second straight night, the Orioles’ offense showed little life at sleepy Oakland Coliseum.

Another Athletics sinkerballer proved to be this homer-happy lineup’s Kryptonite as the Orioles hitters repeatedly hit balls harmlessly into the infield grass in a 2-1 loss in front of an announced crowd of 13,573.

Rookie Zach Neal held the Orioles to just two hits over 5 1/3 innings Tuesday, inducing 12 of 16 ground-ball outs. The only run the Orioles scored off Neal came on Adam Jones’ solo homer to lead off the fourth.

The Orioles, who lost their second straight one-run game in Oakland, were held to just five baserunners.
