Orioles slugger Mark Trumbo didn't make the team's two-day trip to the east coast of Florida on Thursday, instead staying in Sarasota for an MRI on his quadriceps injury that he returned from Wednesday.
Trumbo took three at-bats as the designated hitter in Wednesday's 7-4 win over the New York Yankees, which included a groundout and a walk in which he moved out of the batter's box.
Manager Buck Showalter called the development "a little discouraging.”
"Trumbo called [head athletic trainer Brian Ebel] yesterday after the game and said it was a little store, stiff," Showalter said.
