Orioles right-hander Kevin Gausman said the stat line from his last start didn't tell the entire story of how he pitched in Friday's 8-4 loss to the Los Angeles Angels.
Gausman, 24, was charged with six runs on nine hits over 5 2/3 innings, allowing the second-most runs in his seven big league starts this season.
"I felt like I was really close," Gausman said Tuesday. "The thing I struggled with the most is that I didn't put away guys. I threw too many good hitter's pitches with two strikes and at this level, even if you have a guy at two strikes it doesn't matter; they're going to hurt you.
