Second baseman Jonathan Schoop's right hand was still swollen Friday, one day after he was hit with a pitch in the first inning of Thursday's 6-4 win over the Toronto Blue Jays. But Schoop is still hoping that he can get back in the starting lineup.
"I feel better than [Thursday]," Schoop said. "Still swelled up a little bit, but I feel better than yesterday."
Schoop, who was hit on the underside of the hand by a 93-mph fastball from Drew Hutchison as steady rain fell Thursday, planned to try to grip a bat before Friday's game — which was postponed by rained.
