Orioles notebook: Birds honor late NYPD officer, O's fan Brian Moore

When manager Buck Showalter found out that slain New York police officer Brian Moore was an Orioles fan, he immediately wanted to do something for Moore's family.

The Mets already had planned to hold a moment of silence before Tuesday's interleague game against the Orioles at Citi Field to honor Moore, a 25-year-old officer who was shot in the head Saturday in Queens, N.Y., and died Monday. A man has been arrested and charged with his murder.

The flags at Citi Field flew at half-staff.
