After reaching a $6.75 million agreement with closer Zach Britton, according to an industry source, the Orioles have settled all 2016 contracts with arbitration-eligible players as the report date for pitchers and catchers nears.
Britton, who was the last remaining of their 10 arbitration-eligible players and one of two with whom an agreement was not reached before arbitration figures were exchanged three weeks ago, filed for a $7.9 million salary on Jan. 15. The Orioles countered at $5.6 million, with the ultimate agreement landing right between their $2.3 million difference.
The raise more than doubles Britton’s 2015 salary of $3.
