Tides’ stalwart Chris Jones took a perfect game into the sixth inning before allowing a one-out single. He ended with seven shutout innings and just the one hit. He didn’t walk a batter and he struck out six. Jorge Rondon followed him in the eighth inning and nearly blew the game as he allowed three runs in just u2154 of an inning. He gave up three singles, walked a batter, and committed an error. Thankfully recent Orioles Cesar Cabral and Oliver Drake stopped the bleeding, with Drake striking out the side in the ninth.
The star at the plate was 1B Christian Walker, who reached base four times with three singles and a walk.
