The Tides jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning thanks to doubles from TT Bowens and Forrest Wall, a Jud Fabian walk, a single from Niko Goodrum, and an error from the Knights shortstop. Starting pitcher Brandon Young gave the entire lead back in the following two innings. It wasn’t a great night for Young, who gave up 10 hits and two walks in five innings.
Norfolk re-took the lead in the fifth on Samuel Basallo’s 2nd triple-A home run. It was Basallo’s only hit in the game though he also walked. Fabian was hitless.
