The Tides pitching staff didn’t allow a hit until there were two hits in the seventh inning and held the Bulls to just two hits over eleven innings. Starter Carlos Tavera pitched five hitless innings with two walks and seven strikeouts.
Colin Selby followed with a 1-2-3 sixth inning and Justin Armbruester retired the first two batters he faced before allowing the first Bulls hit, a solo home run that tied the game. Armbruester ultimately pitched four innings with two hits allowed. After the Tides took the lead in the top of the 11th, Nick Vespi pitched a perfect bottom-of-the-inning for the save.
