Orioles minor league recap (8/7): Gray Fenter wins in Aberdeen

Aberdeen was the only Orioles affiliate in action last night, and they made sure Baltimore’s farm teams went undefeated. The IronBirds scored the first three, and held off a ninth-inning rally to clinch a 5-3 victory.

Gray Fenter pitched the first five innings for Aberdeen and picked up his third win of the season. Fenter (3-3) allowed only one run on four hits. The lone run came via a solo home run in the third inning. Fenter struck out five and walked two batters. The 22-year-old missed all of 2016 due to Tommy John surgery. He’s struggled at times this season, and currently holds a 5.
