It was a rough night for Tides’ pitching. Starter Justin Armbruester was knocked out in the second inning with six runs allowed. He had thrown 52 pitches when he was pulled and gave up two walks and five hits, including a home run. Old friend Nick Vespi also gave up six runs in one inning, aided by three walks.
The Tides scored their only run in the top of the first on back-to-back hits from Daniel Johnson and Niko Goodrum. They had seven hits in the game including three from number nine hitter Fernando Peguero. Peguero was playing in just his third game with the Tides after playing 56 games in the Florida Coast League.
