Not a good look for Tides pitchers, much like the big league club’s performance on Saturday. Chayce McDermott failed to get two outs before allowing four runs in the first inning. Trey McGough provided stability with 3.1 scoreless. Luis Gonzalez allowed one run in two innings. Another run was charged to a guy named Vinny Nittoli, who’s only been a Tide since July 4 after bouncing around several organizations. Nittoli took the eventual loss, but Kade Strowd had the worst line of the day, throwing just 0.1 innings but allowing six earned runs on five hits, two of them home runs.
