Triple-A teams had their All-star game on Wednesday night, and two Orioles farmhands took part.
Keegan Akin earned the start for the International League. The southpaw danced around a two-out double in the first inning to escape unscathed. But things fell apart a bit in the second inning. He faced five hitters and allowed three hits before being removed. His final line: 1.2 innings, three runs, four hits, no walks, three strikeouts.
Ryan Mountcastle did not start but did get to play first base in the second half of the contest. Unfortunately, he would go hitless in his two at-bats and make a fielding error in the fifth inning.
