This was not a day for offense in Winston-Salem. The two clubs combined for only 10 hits, and no player had more than one. The Keys’ lineup, which is decidedly lacking in notable prospects, managed only four hits in getting shut out for the 13th time this year. The first two hitters in the lineup, Robbie Thorburn and Zach Jarrett, each went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts.
Frederick starter Cameron Bishop had a weird night. The only two runs he allowed were unearned, thanks to an error by shortstop Patrick Dorrian in the third. But Bishop didn’t do himself any favors by putting 10 runners on base, including five walks.
