The Tides’ bullpen blew a 7-1 lead and wasted a good start from #10 prospect Chayce McDermott. But it was a pretty good game before Corbin Martin and Matt Krook combined to give up nine runs in under two innings.
McDermott surrendered a first-inning home run to Jasson Domínguez, the Yankees’ top prospect. But after that, he settled in well and pitched six innings with three hits and eight strikeouts. McDermott has struggled with walks this season and issued three more last night.
Down 1-0 in the third inning, Jackson Holliday (#1) tied the game with his seventh home run of the season.
