Things went bad for the Tides right away in this game. Starting pitcher Jacob Armbruester (CC’s #20 prospect) gave up six runs in the first inning. In that inning alone, the Stripers had four singles, a double, a grand slam, a hit-by pitch, and a walk. He somehow lasted through five innings, though, with just one more run allowed.
The Tides’ offense was not up to the task of coming back. They had just four hits in the game. Jackson Holliday (#1) walked and scored the team’s first run and then doubled and scored their second.
