A 5-4 game turned in the Bulls’ favor when Durham scored two runs in the fifth and then two more in the sixth to take a 9-4 lead.
It was a tough game team-wise, but there were a few highlights. Cedric Mullins hit his third home run, a solo shot in the ninth inning, and outfielder DJ Stewart went 2-for-3 and is now batting .307. Ryan Mountcastle went 2-for-5 and his hitting .324 in Triple-A.
Pitching-wise, it was a tough night. Luis Ortiz (four innings, five runs) struggled out of the gate, and Sean Gilmartin fared no better in his relief, allowing three earned runs in 1.
