Justin Armbruester continued his season-long struggles and the Norfolk bullpen could not do any better as the Red Sox pummeled the Tides. Norfolk took an early 1-0 lead thanks to a first inning single by Connor Norby followed by a double from Heston Kjerstad. That would be the last lead of the night for the Tides as they were helpless to keep up with the Worcester bats.
After Worcester hit a two-run home run in the first to take a 2-1 lead, the Tides tied things up in the top of the second. Daniel Johnson hit a leadoff double, advance to third when Maverick Handley reached on an error and scored on a Shayne Fontana RBI groundout.
