Ryan Mountcastle and D.J. Stewart continued their offensive barrage. Mountcastle went 3-for-5 with a double. Stewart had three hits, including a double and a triple, in four at-bats, scoring three, driving in two and stealing a base. Cedric Mullins added a hit. Jace Peterson had three hits.
Tyler Herb tossed six innings and gave up two runs on seven hits, a walk and seven strikeouts to earn the win. Tanner Scott struck out four over two scoreless innings. And Luis Gonzalez allowed one run in his inning of work.
These two teams remained scoreless into extra innings.
