The Norfolk Tides have lost eight of their first eleven, and on Saturday lefty Alex Wells got hit up for six runs (four earned) in 3.2 innings. A fielding error and two home runs did Wells in this time, who is now 0-2 on the season with a 14.29 ERA. Conner Greene allowed two runs in four innings of relief.
The Tides scored all three of their runs in the third inning. Catcher Austin Wynns homered, third baseman Rylan Bannon doubled in a run, and DH Brett Cumberland singled Bannon home. The Tides struck out 11 times on the day.
