Starting pitcher Bruce Zimmermann pitched four innings with eight strikeouts, though there was plenty of traffic on the bases with eight hits and a walk. He allowed one run on a solo homer. He exited early due to a hamstring discomfort. Nick Vespi followed and allowed two runs in three innings to take the loss.
The offense was quiet with both runs scoring in the most boring way imaginable. The first run scored on a bases-loaded double play ball from Errol Robinson. The second came in on a sac fly from Nick Maton.
Jackson Holliday (CC’s #1 prospect) singled in four at-bats.
