Victory was snatched away from the Tides Thursday, as Pawtucket scored on a sacrifice fly to tie the game in the ninth, then got a tie-breaking home run from Bryce Brentz as part of three runs in the 10th to take the win.
Mason Williams certainly did what he could to give the Tides a “W.” The left fielder went 3-for-5 with a home run, his fifth, and three RBI. Anthony Santander also went yard for the Tides for his fourth homer, while 23rd-ranked prospect D.J. Stewart had a double.
Tyler Herb struggled to the tune of five runs allowed in three innings, but Matt Wotherspoon turned in an excellent relief outing with four scoreless, one-hit frames.
