Things didn’t go as planned for Norfolk starter Josh Rogers, but the Tides offense bailed him out in a 10-6 victory. Rogers only made it through four innings, and allowed all six of Durham’s runs. He allowed seven hits, walked two and struck out three on the evening. Matt Wotherspoon pitched three scoreless innings to pick up the win in relief.
DJ Stewart and Ryan Mountcastle both went deep in the third inning. Both prospects had two hits, scored twice, and the pair combined for five runs batted in. Mason Williams finished 2-3 with a pair of RBIs, and Steve Wilkerson went 3-5.
