Baltimore Orioles Manager Brandon Hyde was named the American League Manager of the Year by The Sporting News.

The award was voted on by American League managers. Hyde reportedly received 50 percent of the vote.

It was a bright season in Birdland.

The Orioles were projected to finish below .500 and last in the American League East. Hyde led Baltimore to 83 wins in 2022, 31 more than the previous year.
