The Baltimore Orioles on Friday announced their plans to honor Hall of Fame player and manager Frank Robinson, who passed away earlier this month at the age of 83.
In addition to the commemorative "20" patch to be worn on Orioles jerseys through all Spring Training and regular season games, the Orioles will donate $20,000 each to a trio of civil rights and African-American museums--the Reginald F. Lewis Museum of African-American History & Culture in Baltimore; the National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis, Tennessee; and the National Museum of African-American History & Culture in Washington.
A representative from each museum will be recognized during ceremonies before the Orioles home opener on April 4, when the Orioles will also honor Robinson with a video tribute and a moment of silence.
