The Orioles will be without shortstop JJ Hardy for as long as the next two months.
After fouling a ball off his foot in Sunday's game, Hardy suffered what team officials are now saying is a foot fracture. MLB.com reports a CT scan Monday revealed the fracture.
Hardy's batting .244 with 2 home runs and 8 RBI.
Reports say Ryan Flaherty is coming up from Triple-A Norfolk to fill the gap left by Hardy. MASN's Roch Kubatko reports the utility player is flying to Baltimore.
As expected, Flaherty the "likely choice" to be recalled from AAA Norfolk, I'm told.
