Orioles infielders concerned, and at times confused, about new double play rules

Though the Grapefruit League doesn't often see takeout slides at second base on double plays, many Orioles infielders, including shortstop J.J. Hardy and second baseman Jonathan Schoop, are anxious to see how new rules legislating double plays that protect infielders and make the "neighborhood play" reviewable are enforced during the season.

Throughout the Orioles clubhouse, however, there’s skepticism about how the rule will be enforced, and those who are around the second base bag on defense and who have to slide into it on offense are trying to figure out how the rule changes will affect the game come April.
