Coming off their first losing month in two years, the Orioles won’t exactly get a reprieve with their first August opponent.
The O’s kick off a 10-game road trip with four games against the Guardians, the only team in the American League with a better record than their own. Both teams have 65 wins, but the Guardians have 42 losses to the Orioles’ 44. Cleveland currently boasts the best record in the majors, a half game better than the Phillies.
Not many pundits would have predicted the Guardians to be MLB’s most elite team at the start of August.
