Between games of the Orioles' split-admission doubleheader, manager Buck Showalter was attempting to convince reporters that nobody likes playing doubleheaders. It's difficult to win two games on one day and it is a nightmare to manage a pitching staff while having to account for 18 innings.
Showalter would prefer to wait out a delay than have a game be rained out and play two games later.
That is, unless, you win both. Showalter had to be pleased with the results Sunday as the Orioles won a doubleheader sweep over the Cleveland Indians, winning Game 1, 4-0, and claiming the nightcap, 8-0.
