Orioles comeback falls short in explosive 10-9 loss at Toronto

The Orioles hit five homers Sunday afternoon – clawing their way back from a deep five-run hole they faced in the first inning – and missed what could have been a game-winning grand slam in the ninth inning by a matter of feet.

The Orioles dropped their third straight game in Toronto, 10-9 at Rogers Centre, stranding the tying run on third base.

Just before Jonathan Schoop struck out on three pitches to end the game, Pedro Alvarez jolted a ball to the right-field fence with the bases loaded. Blue Jays right fielder Ezequiel Carrera made a leaping catch against the wall to rob Alvarez of extra bases.
