The Orioles claimed lefty reliever Edgar Olmos from the Cubs, not to be confused with film and television actor Edward James Olmos. To make room on the roster, they designated Junior Lake for assignment.
Dan Duquette boldly proclaimed earlier on Thursday that the Orioles would add a couple of players today. They did so, although one of these came in the Rule 5 draft and the other was on waivers. The latest move is that the Orioles have claimed lefty Edgar Olmos off waivers from the Cubs. This is the second time that Olmos has been picked up on waivers just in the last week.
