Orioles right-hander Chris Tillman failed to record an out in the second inning on Wednesday night, suffering his shortest outing of the season in a start that had to put his future in the team’s starting rotation in question.
Tillman allowed eight of the 11 batters he faced reach base, with seven of those baserunners scoring.
The Angels batted around in the first inning against Tillman, scoring five runs by spraying the Angel Stadium outfield with two doubles, a triple and two singles in the inning.
In the inning, three run-scoring hits came on two-strike counts against Tillman, who struggled to execute any of his pitches.
