The Orioles have had some terrible luck with injuries during this 2024 season. To that, the Houston Astros say, “Hold my beer.”
The Astros currently have an eye-popping ten (10!) pitchers on their 15- or 60-day injured list. They, like the Orioles, could cobble together an entire rotation of injured pitchers, with right-handers Luis Garcia, Jose Urquidy, Cristian Javier, J.P. France, and Lance McCullers Jr. all on the shelf, none expected to return this season.
This week the Astros lost setup man Ryan Pressly to a back strain, and longtime ace Justin Verlander missed more than two months with various injuries before returning last night against the Red Sox.
