The Orioles on Friday added right-hander Richard Rodríguez to their bullpen as a part of five roster additions that also included top prospect Chance Sisco, slugger Pedro Álvarez, reliever Jimmy Yacabonis and outfielder Joey Rickard.
Because they only had one open spot on their 40-man roster, the additions of Sisco, Álvarez, and Rodríguez meant right-handers Tyler Wilson and Logan Verrett were designate for assignment.
Rodríguez has a 2.41 ERA for the Tides, and is coming off a strong August that saw him strike out 18 batters and allow just nine to reach in 10 2/3 innings pitched.
