Orioles add reliever Oliver Drake, outright infielder Paul Janish to Triple-A Norfolk

Right-hander Oliver Drake was summoned Tuesday from Triple-A Norfolk to shore up an Orioles bullpen that at least for now is without left-hander Brian Duensing, manager Buck Showalter said.

Drake, 29, takes the roster spot of infielder Paul Janish, who was outrighted off the 40-man roster, Showalter said. Drake was named the International League Pitcher of the Week last week, and in 26 2/3 innings over 27 appearances has a 2.03 ERA with 42 strikeouts. He hasn’t allowed an earned run over his last 14 outings.

Showalter said Duensing, who last pitched Sunday and had a scan on his elbow Monday in Texas.
