The Orioles on Tuesday added infielder Rubén Tejada from Triple-A Norfolk, two days after acquiring the 27-year-old utility infielder from the New York Yankees.
Tejada, a veteran of seven major league seasons after debuting with the New York Mets in 2010, has played shortstop, third base and second base in the big leagues, most recently with the St. Louis Cardinals and San Francisco Giants in 2016.
A career .252 hitter with a .647 OPS in the majors, Tejada had spent all of 2017 with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in the Yankees organization before the Orioles sent cash their way for his services Sunday night.
