The Orioles on Wednesday added first baseman-outfielder David Washington in place of injured first baseman Chris Davis, who left the team and was placed on the disabled list after suffering a strained right oblique Monday night.
Washington hit .257 with three home runs in April, but has seven home runs since then while batting .308 to bring his batting line up to .291/.344/.517 with 10 home runs, 16 doubles and 26 RBIs on the year. In June, he’s batting .405 with a 1.272 OPS and three home runs in 10 games.
