The Orioles activated catcher Caleb Joseph and pitcher Vance Worley, and selected the contract of right-handed relierver Chaz Roe from Triple-A Norfolk ahead of Thursday’s series opener against the Seattle Mariners. To make room, the club optioned catcher Francisco Pena and right-hander Oliver Drake to Triple-A Norfolk, and placed left-hander T.J. McFarland on the disabled list with a left knee injury.
Worley made two rehabilitation appearances — one at Double-A Bowie and another at High-A Frederick — in the past week, not missing much more than the required 15 days he spent on the disabled list with a groin strain that cropped up on June 12 in Toronto.
