A New York appeals court on Tuesday ruled against the Baltimore Orioles and the Mid-Atlantic Sports Network in a long-running dispute over the value of the television rights for the Washington Nationals.
The court rejected the Orioles’ appeal in a 6-0 decision.
In the lawsuit, the Orioles wanted extra compensation when Major League Baseball moved the Montreal Expos to D.C. and renamed them the Nationals. At the time, MASN and the Orioles were the only game in town.
Both the Orioles and MLB couldn't figure out the "fair market value" of the television rights for the Nationals.
