BALTIMORE -- The kids are coming. The Orioles entered another level of their rebuild on Friday afternoon, calling up highly-touted prospect Cedric Mullins and starting him in center field for their series opener against the Red Sox.
Mullins, who got a nice ovation from the crowd, ripped a double into right field to drive in a run in his first at-bat in the second inning at Camden Yards.
The move shifts team leader and veteran Adam Jones -- the organization's longest-tenured player -- to right field for the foreseeable future as Baltimore gets a good look at who may be policing center in Baltimore for years to come.
